Bella's Bath

My apologies for the long absence; I’ve never really been one for consistency.

I feel like I’ve only really been back in Auburn for a couple of days since getting back from Christmas (although technically it’s been a little longer than that!). When I first got back, I worked long hours for a week and half helping to put together a grant application, and then went to Disney World for a long weekend! After that, I was only back for a day and a half before leaving for Mobile for almost a week for the Gulf States Horticultural Expo, as well as the Southern Nursery Association Research Conference. I was back in town for a week, but then I went to Dothan for a nice weekend with the fam. I just got back Sunday (with a very dirty dog, might I add), and began the process of catching up on life! You know how you feel after you get back from a long trip? Your house is clean, but you still feel like you have fifteen million things to do? That was me, but I’ve been working diligently to catch up, and finally feel a little less overwhelmed!

Last night, I worked on washing some clothes, washing some dishes, and ….. washing Bella. I’m not really sure what my parents and grandmother let her do while she spent over two weeks with them in Dothan, but she stunk so bad, I had to wash not only my hands, but even all the way up my arms every time I played with her! And not to mention she really wasn’t even white anymore! She had turned this yucky yellow color, with ugly dirt-colored paws to match. So I set out to give her a bath. I hate I don’t have any before pictures, but I think you’ll get the gist from the aftermath photos….

I mean, she’s worth the $20 I could have paid for a professional cleaning, but then there would have been no pictures to show for it. And what fun would that have been?
